In Romans 5 we read:
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all sinned” (verse 12); “through the offence of one many be dead” (verse 15); “the judgment was by one to condemnation” (verse 16); “by one man’s offence death reigned” (verse 17); “by the offence of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation” (verse 18); “by one man’s offence many were made [legally constituted] sinners” (verse 19).
