Matthew Henry:
“Paganism, with its manifold idolatries and superstitions, poses a grave threat to the souls of men, leading them away from the true worship of the living God. The Puritan must remain vigilant against the subtle snares of paganism, guarding against any compromise with false gods or idolatrous practices. Let us not be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. In Christ alone is found the true light and life, and it is Him we must follow with unwavering devotion.” (From “Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible”)
