Thomas Watson:
“The war on the Word of God is a spiritual conflict of the highest magnitude, with eternal consequences hanging in the balance. It is through the Scriptures that we come to know God and His will for our lives. The Puritan must be vigilant in defending the truth of God’s Word against the attacks of the enemy, standing firm in the face of adversity and persecution. Let us not be intimidated by the opposition of the world or the schemes of the devil, but let us take up the whole armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (From “The Art of Divine Contentment”)
