“Paganism, with its manifold idolatries and vain philosophies, corrupts the minds and hearts of men, leading them away from the truth of God’s Word. The Puritan must be diligent in rooting out the weeds of paganism from the garden of the church, cultivating instead the fruits of righteousness and holiness. Let us not be deceived by the empty promises of worldly wisdom or the fleeting pleasures of sin, but let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who alone can deliver us from the power of darkness and bring us into His marvelous light.” (From “The Reformed Pastor”)
