The ungodly person fears man–not God.
“An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
There is no fear of God before his eyes.”Psalm 36:1
The strong Christian fears God–not man.
“Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him;
he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” Job 2:3The weak Christian fears man too much–and God too little.
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” Ec. 12:13
