The Sovereignty of God and Perseverance of the Saints | Owen Strachan

Richard Sibbes:
“The sovereignty of God is the exercise of his supremacy over all his creatures and all their actions. He rules and reigns over all, and his dominion is absolute and unchallenged. His sovereignty extends over all things, both in heaven and on earth. He does whatever he pleases, and no one can thwart his purposes. His sovereignty is not arbitrary but is grounded in his infinite wisdom, righteousness, and love. As his creatures, we are called to submit to his sovereign rule and trust in his providential care. In acknowledging God’s sovereignty, we find peace and security, knowing that he is in control of all things and works everything according to the counsel of his will.”
